What is Birdies For Charity?
Birdies For Charity (BFC) is a FREE fundraising program for any registered charity that legally accepts tax deductible charitable donations. It is designed to give participating charities the opportunity to generate contributions for their organization based on the number of birdies made by the PGA TOUR players during the Viking Classic.
The primary goal of the BFC program is to successfully solicit and collect pledges based on the number of birdies made at the Viking Classic (Wednesday-Sunday) of a minimum of two (2) cents per birdie OR a donation of $25 or more.
The BFC program can be a money-maker for your favorite charity, and there is NO RISK. Your charity will not incur out-of-pocket expenses. Whatever amount the charity collects in pledges will be the NET amount the charity will receive. Century Club Charities will pay all administrative and promotional costs of the program.
Charity Qualifications
- Registered charity that legally accepts tax deductible charitable donations
- Be registered with the Mississippi Secretary of State
- Meet the Better Business Bureau standard for charitable solicitations
- All participating charities are subject to approval by Century Club Charities
Guess the Birdies Contest
In 2009, those making a pledge or donation can enter our Guess the Birdies contest by guessing the number of birdies made during our tournament (Wednesday-Sunday). The person who makes the correct prediction wins a Viking C4 outdoor Cooker, as well as a Viking Culinary Package of cookware, cutlery, and countertop appliances. Also included is a trip to Greenwood, MS for a "Southern Hospitality, Viking Style" package that includes a two night stay in an elegant suite at The Alluvian Hotel and Spa, spa treatment for two in the luxurious "Couple's Suite", dinner for two at Giardina's Restaurant, and a custom-designed cooking class for two with an Executive Chef from the Viking Cooking School. In case of a tie, the grand prize winner will be randomly selected.
Donors also qualify to win several other prizes from random drawings, including Viking cookware and Viking countertop appliances.
The dates for the 2009 Viking Classic are October 26 - Novemeber 1 at Annandale Golf Club in Madison, MS.
